Residential Care
Dementia care
Respite care

Regent is a care home that truly feels like home. Providing residential and dementia care in the very heart of St John’s, we also offer adult respite (short-stay) care.

Respite breaks are perfect if you look after an elderly relative at home and need a carers’ break, knowing our devoted team is supporting your loved one.

Our staff make Regent truly special. Many have been here for years, including our home manager Jill, who has worked at Regent for over 12 years - and the home’s pet cat Sparky!

With spacious en-suite bedrooms, some with direct access to the stunning landscaped gardens, home-cooked cuisine, engaging daily activities and a hairdressing salon, we have much to offer.

Our glorious gardens

The enclosed gardens are a vast and a stunning space at Regent. We recently created a vegetable plot, where our residents love to grow their own produce and have cultivated everything from potatoes and tomatoes to carrots and beans.

The magnificent water feature, greenhouse and raised planters are all accessible for our more frail residents and those with greater physical disabilities. The sounds and smells of the gardens are wonderful for our residents with sensory impairments.

During finer weather, the gardens provide a fantastic spot for friends and family to visit.

A devoted team

Our excellent staff go above and beyond. Like Danny, our maintenance man, who during the Government lockdowns used his DJ equipment to treat our residents to a VE Day party to remember. Sourcing all of their favourite music, it was a day of magical memories.

Over the summer, administrator Kathy and housekeeping supervisor Martina transformed part of the garden into a beautiful cottage corner using wildflowers in their own time. Whilst care assistant Karen has been known to visit on her day off to take residents swimming. Read more about our resident's passion for swimming.

What activities can my relatives enjoy?

There is so much going on at Regent, from our gardening club to gentle exercise classes and arts and crafts. We have a hairdressing salon for those who fancy a spot of pampering, manicures and hand massages too. The activities are open for all of our wonderful residents, whether they are with us for residential care, dementia care or joining us for a short term stay.

During ‘normal times’ our residents love trips to places like the nearby Cob House Country Park, where they can feed the animals and enjoy tea and cake in the café.

We share a minibus with Juniper House in St John’s, Worcester, one of Sanctuary Care’s nine care homes in Worcestershire. This means our residents can enjoy plenty of outings!

Some of our residents regularly enjoyed visiting a bar in Worcester, where they played darts and pool while enjoying a pint.

The heart of our St John’s community

We are a stone’s throw from shops, a library, churches and cafés. Our residents have enjoyed welcoming people from the community in St John’s and the wider Worcester area to their care home.

These visits include children from the many primary schools and work experience students from the University of Worcester. Local nursery children have also joined us for our senior sing-alongs. This is a wonderful activity, especially for our residents who live with dementia, age-related memory loss and sensory impairments.

Embracing modern technology

Replacing paper-based care plans, kradle, Sanctuary Care’s bespoke care planning app, was trialled at Regent. The technology means our staff have even more time to spend with our residents because they can update kradle at the point of care. Because of the success, we have rolled out kradle across our care homes in England.

Pre-bookable respite care at Regent care home

We offer a range of support services, including adult respite breaks. These short breaks can give caregivers in the Worcestershire community a well-deserved break from caring, knowing their loved one is in safe hands. These long term stays and short stay breaks are also perfect if you need post-operation recovery and convalescence care before returning home.

Pricing information

It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for this in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions. Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents. They are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to truly understand the level of care and support needed.

Our 2022 weekly care fees for residential care start from £983 but may be in the region of up to £1,250*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms to our premium bedroom options.

*If you require more specialist care such as 1-2-1 support, your weekly fee could be higher.
