As soon as you walk through the doors of Heathlands, there is a warm, homely family feel.
Some of the staff have been here for over 15 years, including care home manager Becki, providing that continuity of high-quality care and support.
The team provides residential care, as well as dementia care for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia or memory loss. There are also long-term and short stay respite care options. Relatives who care for senior family members at home often need a break themselves, so they can do so knowing they are receiving a high standard of quality care. Our respite breaks can be pre-booked in advance.
With spacious bedrooms with en-suite walk-in showers, Heathlands also has a hairdressing salon, beautiful gardens and a summer house. In the heart of Pershore, we are next to the Wychavon Civic Centre, a stone’s throw from the town centre which has lots of shops, café’s and restaurants.
With two activities coordinators, our residents enjoy engaging activities that truly enhance their well-being. In the summer they enjoyed a two-month ‘virtual’ voyage, with our team recreating holiday hotspots from around the globe. What an experience, enjoying new cultures, tastes and themed activities, while remembering holidays from days gone by.
With everything from cheese and wine tasting to arts, crafts and games, there is so much to do at our care home. Keeping physically active is also important for our residents’ physical and mental wellbeing, with gentle exercise sessions. These can be done from the comfort of a wheelchair, so are perfect for our residents who are a little more frail or with limited mobility.
Mealtimes are a highlight of the day, with home-cooking and freshly baked cakes and biscuits served every day for afternoon tea.
There is no end of pampering in the hairdressing salon. For those living with dementia, with memory problems or symptoms of dementia, our reminiscence activities are wonderful for their mental well-being.
Regular visitors to the home during ‘normal times’ include therapy dog, Springer Spaniel ‘Link’ and local nursery children. The youngsters enjoy reading to their older friends and taking part in music therapy sessions.
We also support our residents to keep in touch with family members and friends with video calls on the home’s iPads. This is a wonderful way to stay in touch and support our residents to learn new skills in their older age.
The large gardens include a summer house and are a focal point for community events. The whole team gets behind the spirit of these events, which are well attended by the people of Pershore. These have included a royal-themed garden party when the staff dressed in ball gowns and tiaras!
To the side of the care home there is also a large private car park, making it easy for family members to visit loved ones.
Nothing says more about the quality of the care and support at our service than the words of our residents and their family members and friends:
Mum is happy where she is and has been for the past three years. The home is clean, bright and always smells fresh. The carers are attentive, patient and kind. Whenever I speak to mum she tells me she is comfortable and content where she is and well cared for.

One of Sanctuary Care’s nine care homes in Worcestershire, including two in Worcester, we are well respected for our local respite support for carers. Our senior respite care options mean local people can pre-book flexible breaks, including short stays of up to six weeks. With a tailored package of person-centred care and support, they are a wonderful way to trial the care home if you are exploring care options.
Heathlands Residential Care Home also provides short-term residential and dementia respite care from the comfort of our beautiful home.

It is usual for residents in care homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for their care in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions. Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to truly understand the level of care and support needed.
Our 2022 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1,047 but maybe in the region of 20% more*. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms to our premium bedroom options.
*If you require more specialist care such as 1-2-1 support, your weekly fee could be higher.
