Riverlee has a devoted care team who are passionate about enriching the lives of our residents. Our nursing home is nestled in a quiet residential area of Greenwich and provides residential, dementia, nursing, palliative and end of life care. This gives you the peace of mind that our team, which includes highly experienced nurses, are there every step of the way to meet your needs, should they evolve over time.

We also offer short stay adult respite care, giving caregivers looking after elderly relatives in our local community the opportunity to take a well-deserved break themselves, knowing their loved one is in safe hands.

Inside the nursing home, we have all the cosy comforts you’d expect, including bright and airy lounge and dining areas, where our residents enjoy delicious, home-cooked cuisine. There’s a hairdressing salon for a spot of pampering and an activities room. This is a real focal point and acts as a hub for our residents to enjoy social interaction. It’s where we host our group activities, bringing everyone together in a social setting. We even have our own karaoke machine, so the room is often filled with laughter and singing.

There’s always something going on, from quizzes, bingo and painting to baking and performances from live entertainers, who visit Riverlee and other Greenwich homes.

For our residents with greater nursing needs, we can provide one-to-one activities in the comfort of their own bedrooms, whether enjoying a hand massage or sitting with staff to read their favourite book. When we host animal therapy sessions, these can always be brought to a resident’s bedside.

Community engagement in our Greenwich home

We pride ourselves on supporting and empowering our residents to be part of their local community. Before they moved into our nursing home, they may have felt socially isolated. We support them to have active social lives and enjoy new and exciting experiences with their fellow residents, family and friends. And the home’s larger celebrations, like summer fetes and barbecues, are often open to the local community, enabling them to stay connected.

At Riverlee we have a fantastic group of Sanctuary Care volunteers, who dedicate their spare time to the home. And there are visits from school children across Greenwich to look forward to. Spending time with the younger generation is something that is so beneficial for many of our residents’ well-being.

There is plenty going on outside the nursing home that our residents like to explore in Greater London and wider South East region, with museums, garden centres and Greenwich Park. In the warmer months, we go further afield, enjoying an ice-cream at the seaside.

Pre-bookable respite care at Riverlee

We also offer short-stay adult respite care breaks which can be booked in advance - enabling caregivers who support elderly relatives at home to take a break from their caring duties. They will have the peace of mind that their loved one is being supported by our wonderful, professional care and nursing staff. We can provide these relief care breaks for people who need residential, nursing or palliative care if someone has a terminal or life limiting illness, and for those with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia or memory loss.

Within walking distance of Elverson Road Station (DLR) station and near several bus stops, the nursing home is easily accessible for our residents’ family and friends, while still being tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Greater London life.

Pricing information

It is usual for residents in retirement homes to contribute to the cost of their own care. Some people have the resources to pay for their care in full, whilst others make means-tested contributions. Our weekly fees are individual to each of our residents and are subject to a pre-admission assessment, which is required to truly understand the level of care and support needed.

Our 2022 weekly care fees for residential care start from £1,137 and £1,356 for nursing care but may be in the region of 20% more. This depends on your care needs and the type of bedroom that is right for you, from our standard rooms through to our premium bedroom options.

*If you require more specialist care such as 1-2-1 support your weekly fee could be higher.
